Côte d’Ivoire began their TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 campaign with an impressive 2-0 victory over Cameroon in Wednesday’s Group B encounter.

The Young Elephants produced a disciplined and clinical display to secure all three points against the two-time African champions.

After a balanced first half, Côte d’Ivoire gradually gained control of the contest and finally found the breakthrough in the 52nd minute.

Ange Nomane opened the scoring with a composed finish after sustained attacking pressure from the Ivorians.

Cameroon attempted to fight back through attacking players Rony Baliag Nougi and Omar Amir Tsombeng, but Côte d’Ivoire remained compact defensively and dangerous on the counterattack.

Côte d’Ivoire secured the win late in the match when Hubert Yao calmly finished to make it 2-0 and complete a dominant performance.

The result gives the WAFU B champions a perfect start to the tournament and places them among the early frontrunners in Group B.
