Masuluke training with Real Native FC after Stellenbosch FC departure

Former Stellenbosch FC goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke is training with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Real Native FC as he weighs up his next move ahead of the new season.

The 33-year-old has joined Native’s preparations after recently leaving Stellenbosch FC, where he spent three seasons and made 30 appearances in all competitions.

Real Native FC was previously known as Casric Stars, and Masuluke is currently involved with the club as it prepares for the upcoming campaign. His presence gives the Motsepe Foundation Championship side an experienced goalkeeper with a notable record in South African football.

Masuluke’s time at Stellenbosch FC included success in the Carling Knockout Cup. He also played a part in the club’s run to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup two seasons ago, only for Stellenbosch FC to be eliminated by Simba SC.

His departure brings an end to a three-season spell with the Cape Winelands outfit. During that period, he featured 30 times across all competitions before becoming available to explore another opportunity.

Masuluke remains best known internationally for the goal that made him the first South African to reach the top three of the FIFA Puskas Award.

In 2017, he scored with a bicycle kick in the 95th minute against Orlando Pirates at New Peter Mokaba. The spectacular effort secured a 1-1 draw in a tense match and earned him a place among the award’s leading finalists.

That achievement placed Masuluke among the three candidates recognised for the 2017 Puskas Award, marking a significant moment for a South African player on the global stage.

His current training spell with Real Native FC does not confirm a permanent move, but it places him within the club’s preparations for the season ahead. The goalkeeper’s next destination will now be watched closely following his exit from Stellenbosch FC.

Masuluke’s career has included both domestic silverware and a memorable continental campaign, while his bicycle kick against Orlando Pirates remains the defining moment of his public profile. He now finds himself training with a new club as Real Native FC continues its preparations under its current identity, after previously operating as Casric Stars.
