Maseko ranks 18th in Copenhagen squad valuations

Thapelo Maseko is ranked 18th among Copenhagen players by market value after completing his move from Mamelodi Sundowns, with the Bafana Bafana winger valued at €1m (R18.8m).

The 22-year-old’s valuation rose after his impressive performances for Bafana Bafana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Breaking through the €1m mark helped attract interest from European clubs, following his loan spell with AEL Limassol in Cyprus.

Maseko has now joined Copenhagen, where the most valuable player in the squad is German goalkeeper Diant Ramaj. The 23-year-old, who is on loan from Borussia Dortmund, has a market valuation of €7m (R131m).

Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Pereira is next on the list, valued at €6m (R113m). Pereira joined Copenhagen from Gil Vicente in August 2024, having been named in the SuperLiga Team of The Year during his debut season.

He shares second place with Mexican right-back Rodrigo Huescas, who also carries a €6m valuation. Huescas joined Copenhagen from CD Cruz Azul, the only club he had represented before moving to Denmark. He had been with Cruz Azul since the age of 13.

The fourth-highest valued player at the club is centre-forward Youssoufa Moukoko, whose market value stands at €5m (R94m).

Moukoko was signed from Borussia Dortmund for the same amount in July 2025, after spending the previous season on loan at Nice. Despite being only 21, he has already played for the Germany senior national team, having also represented the country at youth level.

Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski occupies fifth place in the Copenhagen rankings, with a valuation of €5m. He joined the club from Greek side PAOK in July 2025.

Maseko’s €1m valuation places him well below the leading names in the Copenhagen squad, but his ranking reflects his recent move into European football after his time with Sundowns and AEL Limassol.

The figures are based on market valuations published by Transfermarkt. Maseko is listed as the 18th most valuable player at his new club.
