Masar move clear at the top as Ismaily claim first Professional League point

Masar moved to the top of the Professional League on their own after a third consecutive victory, while Ismaily finally opened their account with a draw against Al Nasr.

Ismaily drew 1-1 with Al Nasr in the third round of the competition, with Nader Farag putting Ismaily ahead before Ahmed Hussein equalised for Al Nasr.

The result gave Ismaily their first point of the Professional League under manager Ahmed Kashry. Al Nasr also remain unbeaten, but their third successive draw leaves them with three points.

Masar, meanwhile, have made a perfect start to the campaign. Their 1-0 victory over Tanta took them to nine points from three matches and established them as the division’s outright leaders.

Ayman Nada scored the decisive goal for Masar, settling a match in which Tanta were unable to add to their existing tally. Tanta remain on four points after three games.

Elsewhere, Proxy secured their first win of the season by beating Al Tersana 2-0. Dombia scored both goals for Proxy, who moved on to three points. Al Tersana stayed on four points despite suffering defeat.

Baladiyat El Mahalla also claimed a narrow victory, overcoming Mega Sport 1-0. Omar El Qazzaz scored the only goal of the match to give Baladiyat El Mahalla their second winless? No, their second? Need not imply. They moved to four points, while Mega Sport remained on two.

The meeting between El Dakhleya and Pharco ended in a goalless draw. El Dakhleya’s total rose to three points, while Pharco moved to seven points.

Masar’s nine-point start gives them a two-point advantage over Pharco, who have seven points, while Al Nasr, Tanta, Al Tersana and Baladiyat El Mahalla are all on four points. Proxy and El Dakhleya have three points each, with Ismaily and Mega Sport on one and two points respectively.

The round also marked an important early moment for Ismaily. After losing their opening two matches, the draw with Al Nasr gave Kashry’s side their first return from a game this season. Al Nasr, by contrast, have collected a point in each of their three fixtures but are still waiting for their first victory.

Masar’s latest success was built around Nada’s goal, maintaining their 100% record after three matches and leaving them alone at the summit. Tanta’s defeat means they remain on four points, while the other results produced movement among the teams in the middle and lower sections of the standings.
