Marsoni Sambu: Le Mans Target Angola-Belgium Defender in Ligue 1 Move From Dender
Marsoni Sambu, the Angola-Belgium right-back currently with FCV Dender EH, is being linked with a summer move to Ligue 1 side Le Mans FC. The French club are understood to be exploring a deal to bring the 30-year-old out of the Belgian Challenger Pro League ahead of the new top-flight campaign.
Sambu is under contract at Dender until 30 June 2027, meaning Le Mans would need to negotiate a fee rather than pursue a free transfer. The defender is currently valued at around €700,000, a figure that is likely to form the starting point for any talks between the clubs as Le Mans weigh up defensive reinforcements.
The right-back has established himself at Dender in Belgian football’s second tier, with his performances drawing attention from abroad as clubs look for experienced options on the flank. A move to Le Mans would offer Sambu a first opportunity to play in Ligue 1, stepping into one of Europe’s major leagues after his spell in Belgium.
Le Mans, preparing for the demands of a Ligue 1 season, are assessing options across their back line, and Sambu’s age and experience in a competitive European environment make him a candidate as they seek to add depth and reliability on the right side of defence.
For now, Sambu remains a Dender player, tied to the Belgian club for a further year beyond this coming season, with his long contract giving the Challenger Pro League side a strong position in any negotiations that may follow.
