Abdelaziz Barrada Set to Impress at Marseille, Says Jérôme Rothen
Moroccan midfielder Abdelaziz Barrada, who joined Marseille this summer from Al-Jazeera after being trained at Paris Saint-Germain, is gearing up to adapt fully to his new club’s style.
Despite a below-par performance in Marseille’s second Ligue 1 match against Montpellier, Barrada is expected to get his first real chance to showcase his abilities next weekend.
Former PSG teammate Jérôme Rothen praised Barrada’s qualities and potential impact under coach Marcelo Bielsa. “When Bielsa takes Barrada, it’s to implement his system focused on possession. Barrada is a good player — I knew him well at PSG. He’s excellent at retaining the ball. He’s going to surprise people, you’ll see!”
