Cameroonian center forward Faris Moumbagna, currently making waves at the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, is set to make a significant impact on his return to Europe as he joins Olympique de Marseille (OM). The 23-year-old striker, recruited from FK Bodø/Glimt for a reported sum of eight million euros, aims to invigorate OM’s attacking prowess, which has faced challenges in recent performances.

Speaking in the mixed zone after Cameroon’s triumphant victory against Gambia (3-2) that secured their spot in the Round of 16, Moumbagna expressed his enthusiasm for this unexpected turn in his career.

“I never thought I would sign for OM,” he declared, emphasizing his satisfaction and awareness of the high expectations associated with the prestigious club.

Acknowledging the anticipation surrounding his arrival, Moumbagna outlined his playing style and commitment to contributing to the team’s success.

“Speed, finishing, aerial play. I don’t give up, I give a lot on the pitch, I help my teammates,” he stated.

The ambitious striker made it clear that he aspires to make an immediate impact at OM, aiming to become a regular starter and a goal-scorer for the passionate OM fans.

Expressing his eagerness to discover the iconic Vélodrome stadium, Moumbagna conveyed his determination to leave a lasting impression.

“When you arrive at a club like that, there is a lot of waiting. I don’t hold back. I want to come in and break everything,” he declared with conviction.

Arriving at FK Bodø/Glimt in January 2023, Moumbagna showcased his goal-scoring prowess, netting 24 goals in 50 matches.

Despite being utilized as a substitute in all three group stage matches at the African Cup of Nations, he demonstrated his readiness to contribute to his team’s success.

With Moumbagna’s robust and dynamic style of play, Marseille fans can anticipate an infusion of energy into the team’s attacking strategies.

As the Cameroonian forward prepares to embark on this new chapter, Marseille braces itself for the arrival of a player determined to make a significant impact on the pitch.
