Olympique Marseille have set sights on securing the services of Algeria international Ismaël Bennacer on a permanent deal.
The 27-year-old joined the French Ligue 1 giants on loan during the January transfer window from AC Milan. Since joining the club, Bennacer has racked up seven appearances, delivering an assists across the period.
Marseille, who reportedly paid €1m to secure Bennacer on loan from Mila are planning to trigger the option to make the deal permanent for a reported €12m plus €3m in bonuses.
Bennacer had a torrid start to the campaign after picking up a calf injury setback at Milan. He was limited to just eight appearances across competition, including just six appearances in the Serie A.
Marseille turned to Bennacer to fill void left by Ismael Kone following his departure to Stade Rennais.
The French club will be hoping to secure the enterprising midfielder on a permanent deal as the summer transfer window approaches.
Bennacer has been an integral member of the Algeria national team, making 50 appearances and scoring 2 goals since his debut in September 2016.
