Marseille set to move on from Habib Beye

Habib Beye is reportedly not part of Olympique de Marseille’s long-term plans as the club prepares for a major rebuild ahead of next season.

Local outlet La Provence claims incoming sporting director Gregory Lorenzi is expected to opt for a more experienced coach to lead the next project at the Vélodrome.

Lorenzi, who will arrive from Stade Brest at the end of the campaign, is understood to be working on an overhaul designed to shape a squad capable of matching Marseille’s ambitions in Ligue 1 and in Europe. Beye took over with OM sitting third, but he has been unable to keep the team in a Champions League position during the run-in, which has weakened his case to stay on permanently.

Several names are already being linked as potential successors, including Bruno Genesio, Christophe Galtier and Eric Roy.

Marseille are expected to finalise their decision on the coaching role once the season concludes, with Beye likely to move on as part of a wider reshuffle both on and off the pitch.
