Saber Khalifa Completes Permanent Move to Club Africain from Marseille
After months of speculation, it is now official: Tunisian international Saber Khalifa will not be returning to Olympique de Marseille. The striker, who was loaned to Club Africain de Tunis last summer, has completed a permanent transfer to the Tunisian champions.
Marseille president Vincent Labrune confirmed the deal in an interview with French radio station RMC, revealing that Club Africain exercised their option to buy Khalifa. “The option to buy has been exercised for Khalifa,” Labrune said. “This is a definitive transfer.”
The former Evian TGFC forward will now continue his career in Tunisia after an average season with Marseille. Khalifa ended the current campaign as the top scorer in the Tunisian league, netting 15 goals and playing a pivotal role in Club Africain’s success.
The transfer fee is reported to be close to one million euros, underscoring the Tunisian club’s commitment to securing their key striker on a long-term basis.
