Romao Hopes Bielsa Stays at Marseille Beyond This Season
Alaixys Romao has expressed his desire to see Marcelo Bielsa remain at Marseille beyond the current season. Although the Argentine coach is under contract until 2016, a clause allows him to terminate the agreement at the end of the season—a prospect that concerns the Togolese midfielder.
“Things are going well at the moment, so why not?” Romao told RMC. “It depends on what he wants to do. It’s true that compared to previous seasons, we really feel like a team. Everyone has embraced the coach’s project, and if we continue like this, it would be good if he continued the adventure with us.”
Romao has been a consistent performer this season, featuring in nine matches and scoring one goal. He believes that should OM qualify for the Champions League, it may encourage Bielsa to extend his stay at the club.
