Olympique Marseille is currently leading the race for the acquisition of American forward of Liberian descent, Timothy Weah in the ongoing transfer window.
Weah, who made his professional debut in France with Paris Saint-Germain joined Juventus in 2023 from Lille OSC. However, Marseille, who are keen to bring back Weah to France are said to be closing in a move for the attacker.
Marseille is in the market for offensive reinforcements following the departure of Luis Henrique to Internazionale Milan, with the 23-year-old, who has made 78 appearances for the Serie A for Juventus emerging as a top target.
The transfer could cost the Ligue 1 side around €15m, with Weah under contract in Italy for the next three years.
However, negotiations over the type of transfer still need to take place (in other words, will it be a transfer, a loan with an option to buy, or a loan with an obligation to buy).
Marseille are not the only team looking at the former Lille and PSG man, and they will face stiff competition from the Premier League, with Leeds United interested.
