Olympique de Marseille have set sights on securing the signature of German-Ivorian teenage sensation Karim Coulibaly ahead of the summer transfer window.

The French giants have identified Coulibaly as one of their top defensive targets, with the highly-rated teenager emerging as one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe.

Currently playing for Werder Bremen, the 18-year-old has been a standout performer in a difficult campaign for the Bundesliga side. Despite Bremen’s ongoing battle to avoid relegation, Coulibaly has impressed with his maturity and consistency, making 22 league appearances this season.

His rapid development has not gone unnoticed. Should Werder Bremen secure their top-flight status, the club could command a massive transfer fee for their prized asset—reportedly in the region of €50 million.

Marseille, however, are far from alone in the race. European heavyweights including Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea FC, Newcastle United, and Napoli are all said to be monitoring the situation closely, setting up a fierce transfer battle for the young defender.

Among the chasing pack, Marseille are believed to be particularly keen, with the club viewing Coulibaly as a key piece in their long-term defensive rebuild. However, despite their strong interest, OM have yet to make an official move.

As the summer window approaches, Coulibaly’s future is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing transfer sagas in European football. With elite clubs circling and his value continuing to rise, the next few months could prove decisive in determining where one of the continent’s brightest young defenders lands.
