Olympique de Marseille is making a strong push to secure the services of Elye Wahi from RC Lens, following unsuccessful negotiations for Eddie Nketiah. The 21-year-old striker, who is under contract with Lens until 2028, has emerged as a prime target for the Marseille club as they aim to bolster their attacking options.

According to reports from L’Équipe, Marseille has made an initial offer of €20 million, excluding bonuses, for Elye Wahi.

Although this bid is substantial, it falls short of the €30 million Lens paid Montpellier to acquire Wahi last year. Despite this, Marseille remains determined to bring the young talent to the Stade Vélodrome.

Elye Wahi appears keen on the move to Marseille, with a contractual agreement already in place between the player and the club.

This mutual interest has fueled Marseille’s pursuit, as they seek to finalize the transfer ahead of the upcoming season.

RC Lens is reportedly open to discussions regarding Wahi’s transfer. The decision to potentially part ways with the striker was made several weeks ago, indicating a willingness to negotiate with interested clubs.

This openness provides Marseille with an opportunity to strike a deal, though they may need to increase their offer to meet Lens’ valuation.

The pursuit of Elye Wahi represents a strategic move for Marseille as they look to strengthen their squad.

After the setback in acquiring Eddie Nketiah, securing Wahi’s signature would be a significant boost for the team.

The young striker’s potential and proven track record in Ligue 1 make him an attractive addition to Marseille’s attacking lineup.

Elye Wahi has shown remarkable promise in his career so far. His performances for Montpellier and subsequently for Lens have highlighted his capabilities as a forward.

Joining Marseille would provide Wahi with a platform to further develop his skills and make a substantial impact in the French top flight.

Negotiations between Marseille and Lens are expected to continue in the coming days. Marseille is hopeful that their persistence and the player’s desire to join will eventually lead to a successful transfer.

Lens, while open to selling, will likely hold out for a deal that closely aligns with their financial expectations.

The transfer window remains active with Marseille’s determined efforts to secure Elye Wahi from RC Lens.

The young striker’s enthusiasm for the move, combined with Marseille’s need for attacking reinforcements, sets the stage for potentially significant developments in the coming days.

Both clubs will continue their discussions, aiming to reach an agreement that satisfies all parties involved, as Wahi’s future in Ligue 1 hangs in the balance.
