While Roland Courbis expresses concerns about Zinedine Zidane potentially leading Marseille, Elie Baup holds a contrasting view. Baup, a former coach of Marseille, supports the idea of Zidane taking the helm at the club for the upcoming season.
Baup emphasized Zidane’s readiness and exceptional qualities, stating that having Zidane as the coach would be extraordinary for Marseille, both in terms of image and potential success. Drawing a comparison with Laurent Blanc’s successful tenure at Bordeaux, Baup questioned why Zidane wouldn’t deserve a similar opportunity at Marseille.
However, Vincent Labrune, the president of Marseille, refrained from commenting on the matter. Meanwhile, José Anigo, another Marseille figure, suggested that Zidane’s place is currently with Real Madrid, where he serves as an assistant to Carlo Ancelotti.
Zidane, highly regarded in Madrid for his football acumen, has played a significant role in advising the club on player recruitment decisions, endorsing talents like Jesé and Varane.
