The President of Olympique de Marseille football club, Pablo Longoria, has firmly quashed rumors of the departure of Moroccan player Azzedine Ounahi during the current winter transfer window.
In statements to French media, Longoria emphasized that Ounahi is not for sale, highlighting the Moroccan player’s excellent performance with the team and his contentment within the group under the guidance of Italian coach Gennaro Gattuso.
“These are completely different situations. I have read numerous rumors about Azzedine Ounahi, but he is not a player available for sale for us, and we are not seeking offers to let him go because he is an integral part of the team relied upon by Gattuso,” stated the President of the French club.
He added, “He is a talented player who has shown remarkable levels in the French league in recent weeks.
We are pleased to have him as a player for Olympique de Marseille, and I hope he stays with us for a longer period.”
Azzedine Ounahi, a member of the Moroccan national team, has participated in 17 matches for Olympique de Marseille this season, scoring two goals.
Currently, Ounahi is with the Moroccan national team in the city of San Pedro, as part of the preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off on Saturday in the Ivory Coast.
It is worth noting that the Moroccan international, Azzedine Ounahi, signed with Marseille in January 2023 for a duration of four and a half years, coming from Angers.
