Marseille to Face Willem II in Third Pre-Season Friendly
Marseille will take on Willem II this Sunday in Albertville for their third warm-up match ahead of the French Ligue 1 season. Head coach Marcelo Bielsa has named a 20-man squad that features key players André Ayew, Nicolas Nkoulou, and Steve Mandanda.
Ayew and Nkoulou, who recently returned from World Cup duty with their national teams, are back in training, while goalkeeper Mandanda rejoins the squad following recovery from a head injury. The trio were absent from Marseille’s previous two friendlies.
The selected squad includes:
Goalkeepers: Steve Mandanda, Brice Samba
Defenders: Brice Dja Djédjé, Benjamin Mendy, Jérémy Morel, Nicolas Nkoulou, Stéphane Sparagna
Midfielders: Morgan Amalfitano, André Ayew, Momar Bangoura, Benoît Cheyrou, Giannelli Imbula, Mario Lemina, Dimitri Payet, Alaixys Romao
Attackers: Romain Alessandrini, Michy Batshuayi, André-Pierre Gignac, Jérémie Porsan-Clemente, Florian Thauvin
This fixture offers Marseille a vital opportunity to build momentum and sharpen their squad cohesion before the Ligue 1 campaign kicks off.
