OM: André Ayew Back from Injury and Ready for Metz Clash
Good news for Olympique de Marseille and the Black Stars of Ghana — André Ayew has returned to full training after recovering from an injury sustained during Ghana’s AFCON qualifier against Uganda.
Absent since the high-profile Clasico against Paris Saint-Germain, the Ghanaian attacking midfielder rejoined the squad this Thursday at the Robert Louis-Dreyfus center. Ayew looked sharp during training, particularly in goal-facing drills, and played an active role during match simulations, showing effectiveness in both attack and ball recovery.
Given his encouraging performance, Ayew could be included in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad for the Ligue 1 Week 17 match against Metz, scheduled for this weekend.
This return will be a welcome boost for OM, who aim to keep pace at the top of the table, and for Ghana, who will count on Ayew’s experience and creativity at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
