Marseille and Monaco among clubs tracking Mohamadou Kante

West Ham United’s drop to the Championship could open the door for a number of clubs across Europe to pursue highly rated midfielder Mohamadou Kante.

According to reports, French sides Olympique de Marseille and AS Monaco are among nearly 20 European clubs that have expressed interest in the 20-year-old defensive midfielder. Kante, who came through the youth ranks at Paris FC, has attracted attention with his performances and potential.

The Parisian joined the Hammers in 2024 on a five-year contract and delivered a convincing season with 32 matches across all competitions, including 19 with the professional team, scoring five goals and adding three assists.

Standing 1.95 meters tall, powerful, comfortable with both feet and boasting a huge work volume, Kante’s profile attracts clubs from Germany, Austria, Scotland, England’s Premier League and Italy, including AFC Fiorentina. West Ham have set their price at 20 million euros, though a departure for a lower sum, or even as a loan, is not excluded.

Signed with the Hammers until 2031, Kante currently earns an estimated 1.86 million euros gross annually, excluding individual or collective bonuses, according to English sources, with his salary expected to evolve if one of his many suitors materializes this summer. His annual salary breaks down to 155,000 euros per month, 35,769 euros weekly and 5,096 euros daily, with his contract ending in 2031.
