Olympique de Marseille fell short of its jersey sales target for the 2012-2013 period. The club aimed to sell 500,000 jerseys but managed to sell 350,000 instead. The lower-than-expected figures were attributed to an overall decline in jersey sales in France during that period.
In comparison, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Marseille’s rival, outperformed OM in jersey sales, reaching a total of 400,000 sold jerseys.
The figures were disclosed by Olympique de Marseille during a press conference where the extension of the sponsorship contract between Intersport and the club was announced.
