Marouan Azarkan linked with Neftchi PFK move after leaving Al-Nasr
Moroccan-Dutch winger Marouan Azarkan, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Azerbaijan’s Neftchi PFK.
The 24-year-old right winger became a free agent on 1 July 2026 after leaving Al-Nasr, having spent two seasons with the UAE Pro League club. He made 36 league appearances for Al-Nasr, scoring four goals and providing four assists.
A move to Neftchi would take Azarkan to the Premyer Liqa, although there is no indication that an agreement has been reached or that negotiations have been completed. The club have been named as his potential destination in the latest transfer link.
Azarkan joined Al-Nasr from Utrecht in July 2024 in a deal reported at €1m. Before that, he had developed in the Feyenoord system and spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Excelsior.
He made 47 Eredivisie appearances during his time in the Netherlands, scoring three goals and registering nine assists. His most productive senior league campaign came in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, where he recorded 10 goals and eight assists in 39 appearances.
Azarkan, who was born in Rotterdam, has Moroccan and Dutch nationality. He remains without a club, with Neftchi the latest side linked with securing his services.
