Marmoush due in London as Tottenham push ahead with Manchester City deal

Omar Marmoush is expected in London on Wednesday to undergo a medical with Tottenham as the Egypt international moves closer to joining the Premier League club from Manchester City, according to the latest information from Sky Sports.

The proposed transfer is structured as a loan deal with an obligation for Tottenham to buy Marmoush for €70m. Of that total, €58m is guaranteed, while a further €12m would be payable through bonuses.

Marmoush is therefore set to continue his career in the Premier League under Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, provided the medical and the remaining stages of the agreement are completed. His arrival would come only a few days after Tottenham confirmed the signing of Savinho, who is also moving from Manchester City.

The anticipated deal for Marmoush represents another major step in an ambitious transfer window for the London club. Tottenham have already brought in Savinho, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke, and the Egyptian forward is now expected to become the latest addition to their squad.

The medical in London is the next significant stage in the process. Marmoush’s expected visit does not itself complete the transfer, but it indicates that negotiations have advanced to the point where Tottenham are preparing for the player to join the club.

Tottenham’s agreement is planned around an initial loan, followed by a compulsory permanent transfer worth €70m. The guaranteed portion of the fee is €58m, with €12m linked to bonuses. That financial structure means the proposed move is designed to lead to Marmoush becoming a Tottenham player on a permanent basis.

For Tottenham, the forward’s expected arrival would further strengthen the attacking options available to De Zerbi. The club’s recruitment has already included four players this window, with Marmoush set to follow Savinho as another arrival from Manchester City.

The signing of Savinho was officially announced just days before Marmoush’s anticipated medical, underlining the close relationship between the two operations. Both players are coming from Manchester City, although Marmoush’s move is being arranged through a loan with an obligation to buy.

Marmoush is now expected to travel to London on Wednesday, where Tottenham will assess him before the deal progresses. The proposed transfer remains subject to that medical and the completion of the formal procedures surrounding the agreement, but the Egypt international is edging closer to beginning the next stage of his career at Tottenham.
