The coach, who recently secured an impressive Cup-Championship double with Guangzhou Evergrande, a Chinese club, is contemplating staying in China and potentially taking charge of the national team. The former coach of the 2006 world champions expressed openness to the idea, stating, “I think people are considering me, and I say to myself, why not? I’m starting to understand this football. This could be a solution for me.”
He clarified further, saying, “Italy is my country. I feel a certain nostalgia when I think of my family, my friends, all the people with whom I feel connected. But the work I had to do in Italy, I have done.”
