Marcel Desailly tips Olise for bigger move after Bayern breakthrough
Marcel Desailly believes Michael Olise’s time at Bayern Munich might be shorter than many expect, given the level the winger has already reached.
Speaking to Sport1 at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid, the former France defender admitted he doubts Bayern will be able to keep hold of such a special talent in the long term.
“I’m not sure he’ll stay at Bayern Munich for long,” Desailly said. “He’s in a class of his own and the driving force behind Bayern’s attack.” He went on to underline just how polished Olise’s game has become, despite his age. “It’s simply incredible how he uses the ball. The discipline he shows within the system is impressive. He’s among the very best.”
Olise joined Bayern from Crystal Palace in 2024 for €53 million and has quickly grown into one of the champions’ most influential players. Desailly’s praise only adds to the growing spotlight on the Frenchman, fuelling talk that Europe’s biggest clubs will be watching closely if his trajectory continues to rise.
