Roma have received a welcome lift with midfielder Manu Kone cleared to return just in time for their important Serie A meeting with Cremonese on Sunday.
The French international has been out of action since January after suffering a second-degree hamstring tear in the match against Milan, an injury that halted his momentum in the heart of Roma’s midfield.
After several weeks of rehabilitation, Kone is now back in full training with the first team. His comeback was underlined by a positive display in a friendly against Atletico Lodigiani, where he not only completed minutes but also got on the scoresheet in a 4-0 win, a sign that his sharpness is returning.
Kone’s return comes at a crucial moment in Roma’s season, as the club juggles league commitments and its push in Europe.
The 24-year-old’s energy, ball-winning ability and vertical passing are expected to add balance and intensity to Gian Piero Gasperini’s midfield options.
With several senior teammates still sidelined or training separately, the coaching staff will likely lean on Kone to help stabilize the team’s structure and tempo as Roma try to build consistency in the coming weeks.
