Mansour Sy leaves Lierse SK to continue career as an unattached player

Mansour Sy, the France and Mauritania attacking midfielder, has joined the ranks of unattached players after leaving Belgian club Lierse SK.

Sy’s departure was recorded on 27 August 2026, ending his time with Lierse after one season in the Challenger Pro League. The 28-year-old had not made an appearance in the competition during the 2026-27 campaign before the move.

Born in Mantes-la-Jolie, France, Sy is eligible to represent both France and Mauritania. He plays primarily behind the forward line and is right-footed.

Sy arrived at Lierse on 1 July 2025 from French club Concarneau. That move was completed as a free transfer, and he spent the 2025-26 season with the Belgian side before becoming unattached this month.

His career has included spells with a number of French clubs. Before joining Concarneau, Sy played for Marignane GCB, Jura Sud, GOAL FC, Saint-Quentin and Boulogne B, having begun his senior club career with SC Bastia B after coming through the SC Bastia under-19 set-up.

Sy’s move to Lierse followed a free transfer from Concarneau, which itself came after his switch from Marignane GCB in July 2024. He has therefore moved between clubs without a transfer fee throughout the recent stages of his career.

The midfielder’s current market value is listed at €150,000. He stands 1.71m tall and has been used in an attacking midfield role.

Sy is now without a club after completing his departure from Lierse SK on 27 August 2026.
