Manchester United to decide on Abde Ezzalzouli signing after World Cup
Manchester United are reportedly taking a cautious approach in their pursuit of Moroccan winger Abdessamad Ezzalzouli as interest in the Real Betis star continues to grow ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Premier League giants have been closely monitoring the 24-year-old attacker in recent months, with reports suggesting that initial enquiries have already been made regarding his situation in Spain. Despite their admiration for the player, United are not prepared to accelerate negotiations just yet.
According to reports, the club want to assess Ezzalzouli’s performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup before making a final decision on whether to launch a serious bid. The tournament is expected to serve as a key evaluation period for the Moroccan international before any major financial commitment is made.
Speaking to The United Stand, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Manchester United have been following the Real Betis winger closely and are impressed by the progress he has made this season.
The Moroccan forward has enjoyed arguably the best campaign of his career, establishing himself as one of the standout attacking players in La Liga. His pace, dribbling ability, and direct style have attracted attention from several clubs across Europe.
Manchester United are not the only English side monitoring the situation. Newcastle United and other Premier League clubs are also believed to be interested in the winger, while Barcelona reportedly maintain a financial interest linked to any future transfer involving the player.
Real Betis, however, remain in a strong negotiating position. Ezzalzouli is under contract with the Spanish club until 2029, and reports in Spain continue to value his release clause at around €60 million.
For now, United appear willing to remain patient and allow the World Cup to provide a clearer picture before deciding whether to intensify their pursuit.
With the latest development, a strong tournament with Morocco could significantly increase both the player’s market value and competition for his signature.
