Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr as manager Michael Carrick continues reshaping his squad for the new season.

The club has already strengthened midfield with Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, but attention has now turned toward adding more attacking quality.

According to Foot Mercato, Sarr is high on United’s shortlist. The Red Devils are closely monitoring the Senegal international and could make an approach before the summer transfer window closes. However, any deal may depend on United first selling one or more players in their forward line. The identities of those who could leave have not been revealed.

Sarr is unlikely to be an inexpensive option after enjoying an excellent campaign with Crystal Palace. The 28-year-old reportedly scored 21 goals for the English club, underlining his importance and likely market value. He also carried that form onto the international stage, registering four goals and one assist in four matches for Senegal at the summer World Cup.

United must therefore decide whether Sarr’s pace, experience and recent scoring record justify a major investment. Much could depend on outgoing transfers.
