Manchester United take wait-and-see approach on Joshua Zirkzee’s future amid Benjamin Sesko injury
Manchester United is set to consider the next steps for striker Joshua Zirkzee, but only after they have a clearer picture of Benjamin Sesko’s injury status, according to football insider Fabrizio Romano.
While there hasn’t been an official update, club assessments suggest Sesko is not facing a long absence. Romano shared, “It’s going to take some time, but it won’t be a super long time out.”
Interest in Zirkzee is already growing, with West Ham and Roma reportedly making inquiries. However, his fate at United hangs on the precise timeline for Sesko’s recovery. Zirkzee, who has struggled for game time under manager Ruben Amorim, has made just five appearances out of twelve matches this season, totaling only 90 minutes and has yet to score or assist.
As United edges towards key fixtures and braces for the potential absence of players due to the Africa Cup of Nations, fans and pundits have debated whether Zirkzee should be given more opportunities. The club prefers to keep every attacking option open until their forward line is fully fit again.
