Abdellah Ouazan, Ajax’s dynamic midfielder, has caught the attention of Manchester United with his dazzling displays for Morocco at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 16-year-old Amsterdam native has lit up the tournament, guiding his team to the semi-finals against Ivory Coast with a blend of skill and tenacity. Despite his youth, Ouazan’s presence on the pitch feels like that of a seasoned playmaker, turning heads with every touch.
United scouts trekked to Morocco last week to watch him weave through defenses, noting his athleticism, ball control, dribbling ability, and attacking intelligence.
“He’s a year younger than most out there, but you wouldn’t know it,” one observer remarked. Ajax, where Ouazan has developed since 2016 after leaving Zeeburgia, may soon field inquiries as interest from other European clubs swells.
While United’s first-team budget hinges on sales, their youth recruitment hums along, and Ouazan is a prime target. Alongside his brother Zakaria at Ajax, he’s building a legacy and Old Trafford could be next.
