Wayne Rooney, a pivotal figure in the Manchester United setup, acknowledges the turbulent transition period the club is undergoing since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and the appointment of David Moyes as his successor. Following yet another defeat, this time against their local rivals City, Rooney appealed to the fans for patience and support during this challenging phase.
“As a team, we need to stay strong and understand that significant changes have occurred at the club. We must push forward and give the fans something to cheer about by delivering strong performances and securing victories. It was a disappointing night, and we fell short in many aspects. Losing a derby is always tough, and we understand the disappointment it brings to the fans. We need to improve, win more matches, and remain united,” Rooney expressed in an interview with MUTV.
With their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League dwindling, Manchester United faces an uphill battle to restore their former glory under Moyes’ leadership.
