Manchester United revive Carlos Baleba transfer interest
Manchester United are stepping up plans for a major summer rebuild and have reopened talks over a potential move for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.
The 22-year-old, who was strongly linked with Old Trafford last year, remains high on United’s shortlist as they look to refresh their midfield with younger, high-upside profiles.
A transfer did not materialise last summer because Brighton’s asking price went beyond United’s valuation. According to CenterDevils, initial discussions with Baleba’s representatives took place last month, signalling that United are again seriously exploring the deal ahead of the next window.
Within the club, Baleba is still regarded as a talent with significant long-term potential, even if he has not fully matched last season’s impact. Personal terms are not expected to be a major stumbling block, with the Cameroon international understood to be open to the move.
The main challenge, once again, is likely to be Brighton’s firm negotiating stance and their track record of securing high fees. United are expected to make final decisions on midfield signings after clarifying their managerial situation, which will shape the wider transfer strategy.
