Manchester United reluctant to release Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Mazraoui for AFCON 2025

Premier League giants Manchester United are dragging their feet to release African trio of Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Noussair Mazraoui on time for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The 35th edition of the continental showpiece has been scheduled to take place in the North African country between December 2025 and January 2026.

As mandated by FIFA, players expected to participate in the African Cup must be released by their clubs two weeks before its commencement.

But the Premier League giants are striving to keep Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Noussair Mazraoui at the club until mid-December before their release.

Mbeumo has been one of the outstanding players for Manchester United this season, racking up crucial goals for the club since his arrival in the summer. However, the Cameroonian departure is expected to cost the Red Devils, as they seeks to make impact this season.

Cameroon will begin their Africa Cup campaign on December 24, just as Amad Diallo’s Ivory Coast. Mazraoui, on the other hand, and his Moroccan national team will open their account on December 21, 2025.

Currently, Manchester United are in a crucial discussions with the various national federations regarding the release of the trio of the AFCON tournament.

Manchester United wants the trio available for the Premier League games against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bournemouth before sanctioning their departure for the AFCON in Morocco.
