Michael Owen, another former Manchester United player, expressed his feelings, saying, “This is simply falling into the dark! Manchester United without Sir Alex just doesn’t feel good. What a great man to end his career this way. What a privilege to have played for arguably the best manager the world has ever seen.”
Paul Ince, also a former Manchester United player, conveyed his shock, saying, “I am in shock. What he did is incredible. You’ll never see anyone like him again… Two weeks ago, however, he told me that he planned to continue for two more years. I am in shock.”
Sepp Blatter, FIFA President, acknowledged Sir Alex’s greatness, stating, “I have just learned that Sir Alex Ferguson will retire at the end of the season. His achievements in the game undoubtedly place him as one of the ‘greats’. I had the honor of rewarding him with the 2011 Ballon d’Or… Will his longevity at the top be repeated forever?”
