Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are both preparing to trigger Victor Osimhen’s release clause, as they intensify their pursuit of the Nigerian striker.
Osimhen, who was heavily linked to Chelsea last summer, ultimately joined Galatasaray on loan for the season. However, the deal does not include an option for a permanent transfer. Despite Galatasaray’s desire to keep him, they face stiff competition as Manchester United and PSG have significantly ramped up their interest in the 26-year-old.
Sports Digitale’s Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported that Osimhen is in the process of signing with a prominent management agency, with negotiations mediated by a Real Madrid player. This shift has made it less likely that Osimhen will remain with Galatasaray after the season.
“Victor Osimhen is about to sign a deal with a world-famous management company,” he told Sports Digitale. “In fact, a Real Madrid player is mediating these talks. What does this mean? The possibility of signing with Galatasaray in June has decreased a lot.
“PSG and Manchester United made verbal offers to the player regarding salary and contract period. Because both clubs agreed to give Napoli the release clause. It is very difficult for Galatasaray to compete with these two clubs. He is most likely leaving at the end of the season.”
Although the exact amount of Osimhen’s release clause remains unclear, sources suggest it could be around £65m, a relatively affordable figure for top clubs across Europe. Napoli are reportedly open to discussions with interested parties.
Since moving to Turkey, Osimhen has continued his prolific form, netting 17 goals and providing 5 assists in 23 appearances across all competitions, matching his tally from last season at Napoli.
