Noussair Mazraoui set to stay at Manchester United despite AC Milan interest

Manchester United are not planning to part ways with Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui this summer despite growing interest from several European clubs following his impressive performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speculation over the defender’s future has intensified during the transfer window, but reports indicate the Premier League club remain committed to keeping him at Old Trafford.

According to The Peoples Person, a publication focused on Manchester United, Mazraoui is expected to remain with the club despite ongoing rumours and his recent decision to change representation.

The uncertainty surrounding the 28-year-old increased after he appointed Panthera as his new management agency, ending his professional relationship with Rafaela Pimenta.

The move prompted suggestions that a transfer could be under consideration, although Manchester United’s position appears unchanged.

Among the clubs credited with an interest is AC Milan, who have reportedly identified Mazraoui as a potential reinforcement for their defence.

The Italian side are said to have explored the possibility of a move and have opened discussions with the player’s representatives as they assess whether a deal could be completed during the current transfer window.

A move to Milan would also offer the Morocco international the opportunity to reunite with former coach Ruben Amorim, adding further intrigue to the reported interest.

However, despite the speculation, Manchester United have shown no indication that they are prepared to sanction his departure.

Mazraoui remains under contract at Old Trafford until June 2028, with the club also holding the option to extend the agreement by an additional year. That long-term deal strengthens United’s position as they look to retain one of their most dependable defensive players.

The defender’s versatility is regarded as one of his greatest strengths. Comfortable operating as a full-back, wing-back or central defender, Mazraoui has established himself as an important member of the squad by offering tactical flexibility across the back line.

His reputation has grown even further following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he played a key role in Morocco’s impressive campaign. Mazraoui helped the Atlas Lions reach the quarter-finals before their journey came to an end with defeat to France.

Those performances have attracted attention from clubs across Europe, but Manchester United remain determined to keep hold of the Moroccan international.
