Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has made it clear that he wants to keep youngster Kobbie Mainoo at the club.
This comes after the England midfielder of Ghanaian descent scored and impressed in Manchester United’s 2-0 win against FCSB in the Europa League on Thursday.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Ruben Amorim said he wants the club to improve Mainoo and other academy players.
“That part is true [clubs being able to raise money by selling Academy players] but I want players like Kobbie and Garnacho.
“The focus is that we have to improve our Academy and you have to bring more. Because that is something all the clubs in England have to take advantage of – the players who came from the Academy,” Ruben Amorim said.
Despite reported interest from several European clubs, Kobbie Mainoo is expected to stay at Manchester United beyond the January transfer window.
