Manchester United supporters staged another protest against the club’s management before Sunday evening’s Premier League meeting with Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

The demonstration reflected growing anger among fans over the situation at the club and a decline in results this season. A banner in the stands read: “We do not want a new stadium, we want a new management.”

Many supporters also held green and yellow balloons, the original colours of the club when it was founded. They released them into the air as the players came on to the pitch before kick-off.

The protests come amid increasing criticism of the way Manchester United is being run. Fans have called for changes to the club’s ownership and management, saying they have lost confidence in its current direction.

Manchester United went into the Aston Villa match with only seven points from their first nine games of the season. That left them 19th, second-bottom, in the Premier League table.

The listed Premier League schedule places Aston Villa’s fixture on 21 November 2026. Sunderland are due to face Liverpool on 22 November 2026, while Manchester United are also listed in the same schedule information.

This was not the first time Manchester United supporters had used a match to voice their frustration. During Tuesday’s Champions League game against Roma, fans threw tennis balls on to the pitch in protest against the club’s management.

The action caused a brief interruption to play, but the match itself ended with a dramatic turnaround. Manchester United recovered from going 2-0 down to win 3-2, with Matheus Cunha scoring twice and Bruno Fernandes adding the other goal.

The late recovery changed the mood inside the stadium, as the anger in the stands gave way to celebrations during the closing stages.
