Manchester United eyes Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu
Manchester United is reportedly setting its sights on Lecce’s rising talent Patrick Dorgu as the January transfer window approaches.
With new manager Ruben Amorim emphasizing the importance of wing-backs in his preferred 3-4-3 formation, the Red Devils are actively seeking reinforcements, particularly on the left flank.
Italian journalist Gerardo Fasano revealed that Manchester United could soon submit a compelling offer, estimated between €30-35 million, including bonuses, for the Danish-born Nigerian defender to fend off interest from Tottenham and Chelsea.
Dorgu’s versatility has caught the eye predominantly a left wing-back, he has also thrived as a right winger, showcasing an impressive three goals in 14 appearances for Lecce this season. Amorim reportedly sees Dorgu as the ideal fit to energize United’s left side, addressing a long-standing gap in their squad.
Should United finalize the deal, it would mark a significant investment in youth and tactical flexibility, aligning with Amorim’s vision for the team. The clock is ticking as the January window edges closer.
