Patrice Evra Set to Leave Manchester United for Juventus
Patrice Evra is poised to depart Manchester United despite recently extending his contract with the Premier League club for an additional year. The French left-back has reportedly informed United’s management of his desire to continue his career with Italian giants Juventus, according to BBC sources.
Evra, who was part of the French squad eliminated in the World Cup quarter-finals in Brazil, is expected to complete his transfer to Juventus before the end of Wednesday, marking the end of a seven-year spell at Old Trafford.
The former Monaco defender has been a key figure at Manchester United since joining in 2007, contributing to multiple Premier League titles and the club’s 2008 UEFA Champions League triumph.
United are already preparing for Evra’s departure, having signed young England international Luke Shaw from Southampton in a €33 million deal. Shaw is seen as the long-term successor to the veteran full-back, and his arrival signals United’s intent to rejuvenate the squad.
As Evra embarks on a new chapter in Serie A, Manchester United look set to continue their domestic and European ambitions with fresh talent.
