Manchester United are reportedly considering selling young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo during the upcoming summer transfer window, per the Guardian.

The 18-year-old was linked to potential transfers in January, with Chelsea showing interest, but no agreement was reached before the window closed.

Mainoo, valued at over £80 million, has garnered attention due to his impressive performances.

He signed a new contract in February 2023, which extends for another two-and-a-half years. However, negotiations for an extended contract have stalled, as the club is unwilling to meet his financial demands.

Despite his talent and a long-term deal in place, United’s management, led by manager Ruben Amorim, has indicated a willingness to listen to offers for both Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

Amorim emphasized the importance of promoting academy players while acknowledging the possibility of player departures. “I want players like Kobbie and Garnacho,” he stated.

As United looks to bolster its finances for the summer transfer window, Mainoo’s future remains uncertain, and he could be one of several players potentially leaving the club.

With his skill set and youth, Mainoo could attract significant interest from other clubs if he becomes available.
