Manchester United consider move for Josh Acheampong
Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong ahead of a possible summer move.
According to CaughtOffside, the 20-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge if he continues to struggle for regular minutes, with United believed to be interested because they can offer a clearer route to first-team football.
Acheampong has already attracted attention from Bayern Munich, who are said to be watching his situation closely, but without making direct contact with Chelsea. That wider interest underlines how highly the young defender is rated, even though Chelsea do not currently want to sell him.
The move would be a major step for Acheampong, who signed his first professional contract with Chelsea on 3 January 2024 after turning 17 the previous May. The deal tied him to the club until 2026 and reflected Chelsea’s belief in his potential as a versatile defender capable of playing both centre-back and right-back. He then made his senior debut on 2 May 2024 in a 2-0 Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
With his contract running until 2029, Chelsea still hold the upper hand, but growing interest could make this one to watch.
