English Premier League side Manchester United have reopened contract talks with talented teenager Kobbie Mainoo.
Mainoo, born in England to Ghanaian parents, have been tagged as one of the most exciting prospects at the club.
He excelled at the start of the season and was a delight to watch during the first few games he played under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Although his form has dipped, he is still regarded as one with a lot of potential. As a result, Manchester United are keen on tying him down to a new contract and is doing everything to make this happen.
According to sources, negotiations are currently progressing well between Manchester United officials and representatives of Kobbie Mainoo.
The 19-year-old is currently sidelined with a calf injury and could be out for up to four weeks. He still has two years remaining on his contract and has not yet shown any signs of intent to leave the club.
It is understood that his representatives are pushing for a salary increase that will see him pocketing £180,000 per week plus bonuses.
Amid the contract talks, Manchester United officials are confident a deal will be reached before the end of the 2024/25 football season.
