Yaya Touré: “I’m Always Hungry for More” – Eyes Set on Champions League Glory with Manchester City
Never one to rest on his laurels, Yaya Touré continues to push his limits at Manchester City, driven by an unrelenting desire to achieve greatness. In an interview with Goal.com, the Ivorian midfield general made it clear: he’s far from done.
“I’m the guy who wants more. I always put myself at a high level and try to stay there.”
A cornerstone of City’s recent rise, Touré reflected on how far the club has come since his arrival in 2010:
“It was a small team four or five years ago, but today it’s big. We’ve brought back some fantastic players. I think the club is growing well and will continue to grow.”
Champions League Ambition
While domestic success has brought trophies and acclaim, Touré believes the real test now lies in Europe.
“One of the focuses is to perform even better in the Champions League. All the big clubs reach the semi-finals or finals. If we want to reach that level, we have to go as far as possible in this competition.”
That ambition faces a crucial hurdle this week as Manchester City host CSKA Moscow in what Touré calls a “decisive match”. With group stage qualification hanging in the balance, there is no room for error.
Touré’s mindset — forged by high standards and relentless ambition — continues to define both his personal journey and Manchester City’s pursuit of continental dominance.
