Manchester City sign teenage winger Jeremy Monga from Leicester
Manchester City have confirmed the signing of highly rated winger Jeremy Monga from Leicester City, adding another exciting teenager to their long-term project.
In their announcement, City described him as an “exciting young winger” and confirmed he has signed a five-year contract that runs until the summer of 2031. The England youth international only turned 17 yesterday, underlining how early the club have moved to secure his talent.
Monga has been on Leicester’s books since the under-9s and has risen quickly through every age group thanks to his pace, dribbling, power, and eye for goal.
He was promoted to the club’s under-21 side at just 15, where he adapted quickly to the physical and tactical demands of older opposition. His rapid rise then continued with a breakthrough first-team campaign in which he made 27 senior appearances. Even as Leicester suffered relegation from the Championship, he contributed one goal and two assists, offering glimpses of his attacking potential.
Those performances drew serious interest from several Premier League clubs, but City ultimately acted fastest and most decisively to close the deal.
