Manchester City are reportedly preparing to activate Mohammed Kudus’ release clause, according to a report by Football Insider.
The Ghana international has caught the attention of top European clubs with his stellar performances for West Ham United.
During his debut campaign in the 2023/24 season, Kudus netted 14 goals and contributed six assists, making him one of the Premier League’s standout players.
Kudus’ contract at the London Stadium includes an £85 million release clause, which becomes active in the summer transfer window.
While West Ham value the former Ajax star at closer to £100 million, it would take a record-breaking offer to secure his services during the January window.
Although Manchester City have shown serious interest, a January transfer appears unlikely. Instead, the Premier League champions are reportedly planning to pursue the dynamic midfielder in the summer.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be monitoring Kudus closely, signalling a potential bidding war among England’s elite clubs.
So far this season, Kudus has scored three goals and provided two assists in 16 appearances, further solidifying his reputation as one of Europe’s rising stars.
