Eliaquim Mangala’s Manchester City Debut Delayed Due to Fitness Concerns
Eliaquim Mangala, the French defender of Congolese descent, who recently signed for Manchester City, will have to wait a little longer before making his debut for the club.
Despite joining the Premier League giants earlier this month, Mangala is not yet match-fit. Manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed ahead of this weekend’s clash with Stoke City that the centre-back will not feature, saying: “As for Mangala, we will see him after the international break. It is too early for him to start against Stoke on Saturday.”
City fans will have to be patient as Mangala continues his adaptation and recovery, with expectations high for the defender once fully fit.
