**Wilfried Bony Eyes Breakthrough at Manchester City Amid Aguero Injury**
Since his January 2015 move from Swansea to Manchester City, striker Wilfried Bony has struggled to make a consistent impact at the Etihad Stadium. With Sergio Aguero firmly established as the club’s first-choice forward, Bony has found game time limited, scoring just two goals in 19 appearances across all competitions.
However, the Ivorian now has an opportunity to step up following Aguero’s recent injury. Speaking ahead of City’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth, Bony told the club’s official website: “Now I have to take it game by game and work hard. I have to take my chances and score goals for the team. That’s why I’m here. My first concern is to help my teammates and play my part. We’ll see how things start this Saturday against Bournemouth.”
Reflecting on a difficult start to his City career, Bony admitted to setbacks caused by injuries and a lack of rhythm. “A lot of crazy things have happened since I arrived at City and I was sidelined with several injuries. It was difficult to find a rhythm with one or two games here and there. In the last five years, I had never missed more than two games in a row. At Swansea, I only missed a handful of games, most of the time because of a red card. Here, I was unlucky, but I hope that is over.”
With the chance to stake his claim during Aguero’s absence, Bony will be eager to prove his worth and regain the scoring form that made him a star at Swansea.
