Man Utd linked with Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba

Carlos Baleba, the Cameroon midfielder currently at Brighton, has been linked with a move to Premier League club Manchester United.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder joined Brighton from Lille on 29 August 2023 in a deal worth €27m. He remains under contract at the Amex until 30 June 2028, meaning any transfer would involve a fee rather than a free move.

Baleba has made 92 Premier League appearances for Brighton, scoring three goals and providing one assist. He has also featured in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League for the club.

His current market value is listed at €55m, while his highest recorded valuation has been €60m. The reported likelihood of a move to Manchester United is 81%.

Baleba began his senior career with Lille after moving up from the club’s reserve side, having previously played for Brasseries in Cameroon. He is a left-footed midfielder born in Douala and represents Cameroon internationally.

The rumour concerns a move within the Premier League, with both Brighton and Manchester United competing in England’s top flight. Baleba’s existing contract gives Brighton a long-term position as discussions over any potential transfer develop.
