Manchester United are preparing an improved and final offer for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, as the club intensifies efforts to bolster its attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season.
The 26-year-old Cameroonian, who has long been admired by United scouts, delivered an impressive 2024/25 campaign with Brentford, finishing as the club’s top scorer and ranking fourth in the Premier League’s Golden Boot race behind Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak.
His performances reignited interest from Old Trafford, with United making their first official move last week.
According to English media reports, United submitted an opening bid worth £45 million plus £10 million in potential add-ons.
Brentford, however, swiftly turned down the proposal, indicating their valuation of the player is higher.
Despite the initial rejection, negotiations between the two clubs have continued, and United are reportedly finalising a new bid believed to be worth £55 million, with an additional £5 million in bonuses.
Sources close to the club suggest this will be United’s final offer for Mbeumo, as the club aims to wrap up early signings before pre-season begins.
The player’s goal-scoring prowess, combined with his versatility across the front line, makes him a prime candidate to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s squad as they seek to bounce back from a disappointing league finish.
